About Jack
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and consider myself a lifelong learner, always eager to take on new challenges and experiences.
I received my M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC San Diego in 2024, specializing in Machine Learning and Data Science.
Prior to this, I earned my B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, also from UC San Diego, in 2023, where I specialized in Machine Learning and Controls.
I'm broadly interested in the industries of autonomous vehicles, healthcare technology, and space exploration.
More specifically, I'm interested in safety, perception, computer vision, real-time learning, and the development of intelligent systems that can make reliable decisions in complex environments.
I hope to one day contribute meaningfully to innovations in these sectors in a way that improves lives on a global scale.
Outside of work, I've been an avid table tennis player for over 15 years.
Growing up, I represented Alameda Table Tennis Club and competed in tournaments all around the Bay Area and California.
While at UC San Diego, I was heavily involved in our school's table tennis club and eventually became Captain of our team.
Attending the various divisional, regional, national tournaments with my amazing teammates over the years make up some of the most memorable moments of my college journey.
From 2014-2019, I was a proud member of Boy Scout Troop 726, where I developed my passion for hiking, backpacking, and leadership.
I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in November 2018 and continued to serve the troop afterward as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, mentoring younger scouts and
helping revive the troop's newsletter, the Troop Flash, as its Chief Editor.
I met some of my closest friends during this time and gained innumerable intangible skills that continue to shape who I am today.
Looking ahead, Hobbies that I intend on picking up include photography, trail-running, cooking, and learning another language!
